Honda Accord Coupe 2001

Hi! I am a teen driver, I got this car from a family member. I have no car experience at all. I did a bit of researching and I think I have an idea of what is going on but I need an expert's opinion. The entire car is fine except for two areas: (1) the top left side of the car, (2) the trunk). I believe the top left side of the car is due to a failing clear coat peeling off. The top of the trunk I 'HOPE' is just due to heavy oxidation. Do I have to get a paint job now? Is the damage that bad?

You could try a high speed buffer with a cutting compound on the trunk. The car looks silver and those are usually very difficult to restore. If the rest of the car is good, just have the trunk and top piece painted
